About: SIWA is an educational platform designed to accelerate the talent and professional development of its members with a focus on technology and personal development.
My Role: Product Designer, Product Strategy
Problem: The challenge faced by young talents interested in entering the world of technology, cryptocurrencies, and AI is multifaceted. They lack not only the specific technical knowledge required in these rapidly changing industries but also essential soft skills such as effective communication, teamwork, and adaptability. This gap is exacerbated by the speed of technological evolution, which often leaves traditional education lagging behind in terms of the current skills and knowledge demanded. Furthermore, the tech crypto and AI field requires a deep understanding of complex and constantly evolving concepts, which represents a significant barrier for those without a solid technical foundation or access to updated and relevant learning resources.
Solution: SIWA is a platform designed to accelerate the talent and professional development of its members. It focuses on:
- Career Development: Its main mission is to advance users’ professional careers through a variety of courses (Artificial Intelligence, Crypto, NFT, personal development, etc.).
- Global Community: It has a diverse global community, promoting knowledge and experience sharing in both in-person and virtual meetings.
- Certification and Networking: It offers courses to accelerate personal and professional development, allowing for on-chain certification of knowledge and providing access to networking with professional mentors.
SIWA offers a gamified learning experience where the user’s progress on the platform is reflected in a unique, non-transferable NFT represented by a turtle that changes its appearance as the user learns.
Additionally, SIWA has an artificial intelligence named Mía, which functions as a personalized tutor for students to accompany their learning journey. Mía is trained with papers, study materials, and information related to the platform’s courses to guide students in their personal and professional growth.
Reflection: SIWA was my first experience working with an ed-tech company in the tech niche. I believe SIWA’s biggest challenge as a startup is transitioning from being a community to becoming a business. During the first few months, a lot of focus has been on content generation, free events, meetups, Twitter spaces, and workshops, making it one of the most relevant Spanish-speaking communities in LATAM. Having the official product certification “Made by Apes” gives it prestige and access to top-notch educators. I consider it a startup with solid foundations to thrive and establish itself as a business in the next bull market.
