About:
This project is a decentralized social app that helps remote workers and crypto enthusiasts find meaningful in-person connections through curated dinners with strangers. The platform combines game theory, AI matching, and on-chain reputation to foster safe, high-value social experiences in a trustless environment—especially for communities outside of major cities.

My Role:
Ideator & Product Designer

Problem:
In Latin America and beyond, remote workers and crypto builders often face isolation and a lack of real-life community.

  • 25% of people report feeling disconnected from IRL spaces.
  • While 39% of people meet online, growing concerns around AI impersonation and personal safety, especially for women, have made 1:1 meetups increasingly risky.

Most networking is concentrated in big cities, leaving people in smaller regions with little to no access to social opportunities or events.

Solution:
The app introduces several mechanisms to make IRL socializing accessible, safe, and scalable:

  • Deposit-Based Commitment System:
Users sign up for dinners with strangers by placing a 5 USDC deposit. If they attend, they get it back—making the dinner free, but only for those who show up.
  • On-Chain Reputation System:
After each dinner, users rate one another. Good behavior improves a user’s reputation, increasing their chances of being invited again. Poor behavior reduces it—creating social accountability on-chain.
  • AI-Powered Matching:
Users complete a 15-question quiz across 3 categories: Social Interaction, Professional Interests, and Personal Development.
Based on these inputs, the platform uses OpenAI (ChatGPT) to match compatible participants, ensuring high-value conversations.
  • Decentralized Venue Nominations:
Users can propose new restaurants globally. To avoid spam or scams, nominations require a small deposit. Curators verify the venues. If accepted, the proposer gets benefits like free reservations. If the venue is fake, they lose their deposit—discouraging abuse.

Reflection:
This idea came to life just three days before the Based LatAm deadline, after seeing a tweet from @SimonethG. Still, it’s something I’ve been wanting to build for a long time.

Living in Salta, Argentina, far from Buenos Aires, I rarely have access to crypto events or networking opportunities. Most of my days are spent working from home, like many others in LATAM.

As the Ideator and Product Designer, I created the full user flow and designed the prototype in Figma, with a focus on making the experience intuitive—even for people unfamiliar with crypto.

Designing the incentive system through game theory was one of the most exciting and challenging parts of the project. It felt amazing to shape a product that turns digital strangers into IRL connections—respectful, meaningful, and decentralized.
