About:
Glocal is a platform designed to simplify the process of accessing grants within the Polkadot ecosystem. By leveraging OpenAI and a crypto-to-FIAT ramp, it enhances the efficiency of grant curation and streamlines financial operations, making it easier for organizations to manage their workflows and payments in a decentralized environment.
My Role:
Ideator & Product Designer
Problem:
Accessing grants in decentralized ecosystems like Polkadot can be complex and time-consuming due to the large volume of applications and the lack of streamlined payment solutions. Curators struggle with efficiently processing submissions, and managing payments to suppliers often requires navigating multiple systems.
Solution:
Glocal introduces two key features to address these challenges:
- AI-Powered Grant Curation:
By integrating OpenAI, Glocal helps curators process large volumes of grant applications faster and more accurately, significantly improving their workflow. - Crypto-to-FIAT Ramp:
Through integration with Eluter, Glocal simplifies payments to suppliers, allowing organizations to seamlessly convert crypto into FIAT currencies, making the management of grant funds more efficient.
Reflection:
Leading the design of Glocal during the Polkadot Hackathon was an enriching experience. As the Ideator and Product Designer, I defined the product vision and crafted a user-friendly interface that delivered a seamless experience. The project’s win in the Exponential Technologies category underscored its potential to revolutionize the way grants are accessed and managed in decentralized ecosystems.
